Strategic Evaluations, Inc. (SEI) is an evaluation consulting firm located in Durham, North Carolina that specializes in evaluating science education grants and public health initiatives. We primarily evaluate grants funded through three large organizations in the United States: National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). All of the grants we currently evaluate focus on training underrepresented minorities and/or improving research-oriented teaching and curricular development at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). Our data collection efforts often involve visiting MSI campuses across several states, including North Carolina, Georgia, Massachusetts, Texas, and California. We regularly survey, facilitate focus group sessions, and conduct interviews with trainees who identify as one of the NIH-defined under-represented groups. SEI is a minority-owned business with a team that shares a deep commitment to improving diversity in the sciences.
